On 29 November, the Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) launched two papers:
- Water: fueling the path to a hydrogen future – The role of the urban water industry in Australia and New Zealand’s renewable energy future, outlines the key considerations for the urban water industry in participating in the hydrogen economy. The report can be used to guide business cases, engage stakeholders and partners on policy and development issues, assist utilities to evaluate key opportunities, and points to further work that warrants exploration in the years ahead.
- Towards resilience: Climate change and the urban water industry in Australia and New Zealand, represents the first time the full range of impacts of climate change on water utilities, and the breadth and diversity of their climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience strategies are together in one place. The Paper showcases the comprehensive activities the sector has implemented to manage emissions and adapt to a new reality.
