Data collected within the water sector has, until now, been difficult to connect and should be more accessible, affordable, secure, fair, and user-friendly. There’s currently a high demand for data spaces, and this needs to align with the current era of digitalisation and data-driven work. Data spaces represent a secure and controlled way of sharing data and creating value.
In other sectors developments are made to ensure data is discoverable, accessible, exchangeable, and reusable. The Waterverse projectis workign to inlcude the water sector in this movement. The Water Data Management Ecosystem (WD E) being built is a technical solution for a water data space; a digital environment where you can combine water-related data from different sources.
