What does Dalian University bring to Watershare?

Haixing Liu from Dalian University, China tells us what their ambitions are for Watershare.
Can you please introduce your organisation and field of expertise?
I am working at the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, China. My expertise encompasses Water distribution system, urban water resources, and smart water systems.

What can you bring to Watershare and what are you looking for?
We are looking for cutting edge knowledge and best practice management from other members.
We have the knowhow on engineering infrastructure, operation and management from water company in China, and have experience with consulting and dealing with authorities.
What are you proud of (looking at the activities/achievements of Watershare)
We are proud to be part of the international network of Watershare, which connects prestigious experts. We can learn from Europe’s leading role.
What do you see as the biggest challenges for Waterhare in 2020-2021?
The main challenge is to keep members connected, engaged and aligned on the same concerns and goals. Watershare should provide more clarity on the purpose and benefits of the community.
What are your ambitions as a Watershare member?
Our ambition is to support Watershare to become an influential organisation, such as IWA, IAHR, ASCE, EWRI etc.
Coronavirus/Virus research: What opportunities do you see for Watershare members?
We see the Corona pandemic as a hot topic. We could capitalise on this short term wave and extend our research into pandemic risk evaluation and control, and water treatment.
