More robust Watershare tool suite put into operation

Over the last few months it has become apparent that a number of the Watershare tools have begun to fail, with users reporting that they were unable to launch specific tools or that the tools failed during use.  Following analysis, it was discovered that the mechanism employed by each Watershare tool to verify that the user has the right to launch it was not working properly.  This has now been rectified through the installation of a new authentication system.

In order to prevent a reoccurrence of this problem, an automated test suite has been developed which checks each of the Watershare tools on a daily basis.  In the event of a tool failure, a warning is raised which allows our web administrators and developers to respond in a timelier fashion.  Please do not hesitate to contact us (Bianca van der Wolf) if you encounter any difficulties launching or using the Watershare tools.
