Dalian University of Technology has joined Watershare. Dalian University of Technology has developed into a multiple-disciplinary university of science and technology, covering natural sciences, economics, sciences of management, social sciences and applied liberal arts, with the science and engineering sectors remaining its major fields of devotion. The university is located in the coastal city of Dalian, in northeastern China’s Liaoning Province. Dalian University of Technology is a national key university administrated directly under the Ministry of Education of China. Dalian University of Technology is also one of the Big Four Institutes of Technology in China.
The Watershare agreement was signed during a visit of Dr. Haixing Liu and Mr. Shengwei Pei of the School of Hydraulic Engineering of Dalian University of Technology to KWR on 22 and 23 July 2019. Dr. Haixing Liu is happy to join in Watershare. “We are looking forward to contribute to Watershare and share knowledge with the Watershare partners”, Dr Liu says. He also explains: “Our research focusses on water resources regulation, flood control and disaster mitigation, urban water management and water environment, and we carry out research projects throughout China“. Currently, the spatial distribution of water resources requires water to be transported over long distances to the major urban centers in China. Collaboration in Watershare may focus on safe transfer of water to the cities, infrastructure operation, as well as water allocation, and alternative water sources.
