WASS is a decision guidance system that can help in the initial screening of possible techniques for the treatment of industrial waste water.

Manual

How it Works

WASS is developed by the BAT knowledge centre of VITO (a leading European independent research and technology organisation in the areas of cleantech and sustainable development, elaborating solutions for the large societal challenges of today.). The tool helps in finding possible combinations of treatment techniques to solve a particular waste water problem.

The influent can be characterized by the user with respect to the presence of interfering substances, concentrations of pollutants and the desired degree of removal.

The objective of WASS is not to automatically propose the Best Available waste water treatment technique based on the input data, but rather to select a number of possible techniques from which the expert can select the Best Available Technique.

WASS also contains fact sheets of 42 wastewater treatment techniques.
