Risk Assessment of the Water Reclamation Plant in Windhoek

Windhoek has since long reclaimed wastewater using multiple barriers to produce potable water. Obvious health risks involved, assessing risks using combination of QMRA and fault tree analysis. Evaluating if the extensive treatment is sufficient under severe conditions (scenarios). Pathogens such as Norovirus, Giardia and Cryptosporidium were studied. UV light was suggested to be added to the WTP to improve the treatment and achieve a safe drinking water.
